These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the TBT — Test Before Trade website and its historical backtesting tools. By accessing or using TBT, you agree to these terms. Do not use the service if you do not agree.
1. Nature of the service
TBT is a technology-based research and educational tool. It allows users to select historical market data, enter strategy parameters and view hypothetical backtest calculations. TBT is not a stockbroker, exchange, portfolio manager, investment adviser or research analyst service.
2. Eligibility and user responsibility
You should be at least 18 years old and legally capable of accepting these terms. You are responsible for checking every strategy, parameter, result and trading decision independently. You must comply with all laws, broker rules, exchange rules and tax obligations applicable to you.
3. Permitted use
You may use TBT for personal research, education and strategy evaluation. You may save or share your own calculated observations, provided that you do not misrepresent TBT results as guaranteed returns or official investment recommendations.
4. Prohibited use
You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, bypass rate limits, overload the website, introduce malicious code, scrape or systematically extract market data, resell or redistribute third-party data, impersonate TBT, or use the service for unlawful, deceptive or abusive activity.
5. No investment advice or guarantee
TBT does not provide personalized advice, buy or sell recommendations, price targets, portfolio suitability assessments or promises of profit. A strategy that performed well historically may lose money in live markets. You remain solely responsible for any trade or investment.
6. Third-party services and data
TBT relies on Alice Blue authentication and market-data interfaces, third-party hosting and internet infrastructure. Availability, data coverage, current-expiry limitations, rate limits, corrections and terms may change without notice. References to Alice Blue, NSE or any other provider do not imply sponsorship, partnership or endorsement.
7. Intellectual property
The TBT name, website design, software, original text and calculated presentation are owned by or licensed to the operator of TBT. Third-party names, trademarks and data remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership to users.
8. Availability and changes
The service may be changed, limited, suspended or discontinued at any time, including for maintenance, security, regulatory, data-provider or cost reasons. TBT does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, any particular instrument, timeframe, date range or calculation feature.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TBT disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation and freedom from errors. Nothing on the website should be the sole basis for a financial decision.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TBT and its operator will not be liable for trading losses, lost profits, loss of data, missed opportunities, business interruption or indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.
11. Privacy
Use of the website is also governed by the Privacy Policy. Broker authentication occurs on Alice Blue's hosted service. TBT does not ask users to enter broker passwords, PINs, OTPs or API secrets into TBT.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service, technology or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
13. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are intended to operate under applicable laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts or other forums having lawful jurisdiction. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the issue.
